American Idol Judge : STEVEN TYLER


The Yonkers, New York native and Aerosmith's frontman, Steven Tyler is known in the rock world as the 'Demon of Screamin' for his high vocal range and the extreme screaming in all the band's recordings and concerts.

Aerosmith's popularity in the 1970s was tremendous but was halted and their popularity waned when Steven's drug addiction became worst and need to enter a drug rehabilitation programs.

Aerosmith worked their way back to music charts and recording in 1986 when they collaborated with the Run DMC and together they gave us the massive his 'Walk this way.' And Steven gave a statement that with all the drug problems and rumors surrounding the band's future, he will stay and remain a the lead vocalist of Aerosmith. The band's popularity resurrect, and Aerosmith is the only rock band in the 70s that is still rocking its way the next millennium.

On September 22, 2010, Tyler became a part of American Idol as a judge for its tenth season along with Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson. Tyler and Lopez replaced Simon Cowell, Ellen de Generes and Kara DioGuardi. It has been reported that DioGuardi helped Steven to get the judging job in AI. He and Jennifer made their AI debut on January 19, 2011.




Life after AI for Chris Medina


Chris Medina didn't make it to the top 13 finalists of American Idol Season 10 but, he found fame nevertheless than his other batch in this season.

A native o f Chicago, Illinois, Chris first touched the viewers and the judges hearts when he told about the ordeal his girlfriend went through after she suffered a brain injury in an accident that left her paralyzed and how Chris stayed loyal to her.

Though Chris was not in the top 13 finalists, he made his way the Billboard charts with his recording of 'What Are Words' day after he was eliminated from AI. It entered the Hot 100 charts at no. 83.

'What are Words' made its way to no. 1 charts in the Scandinavian countries. Chris became so popular in Norway and Sweden. He's busy with TV appearances in different shows in these countries.

The parents of a Norwegian girl who was one of the victims in the Norwegian terror in July, 2011, requested Chris to sing to her funeral. 'What are Words' was her favorite song.

Chris is very active in charity works that concern physically and mentally challenged patients.

For now, Chris is in the studios recording his second album and will be release Summer of 2012.



AI breaks records

American Idol Season 11 broke records in Tweeter and Facebook networks.

According to the survey, there were 518,000 comments posted on these social network sites about AO. 100,000 over last year's season.

Of the 211 tv shows across America, AI premier's came in first with over 25% viewership over other shows.

Jordin Sparks gave hope to young hopefuls in AI


Winning the sixth season of American Idol, Jordin Sparks at 17 years old then, she made history by becoming the youngest ever to win the much coveted dream of becoming a singing star.

Born on December 22, 1980, this Phoenix, Arizona native, Jordin lived a very comfortable life having Phillipi Sparks, New York Giants' defensive back, as his father. Jordin is a devout Christian wearing a purity ring, that symbolizes she will stay a virgin until she gets married.

Jordin auditioned for AI twice in 2006. Once in Los Angeles and again in Seattle. During the contest proper, Jordin was the most improved contestant for the whole season.

After winning Idol, Jordin became a very busy recording artists. Her coronation song 'This Is My Now' reached no. fifteen on the Billboard Hot 100. It was followed with more hits from Jordin like 'No Air' with Chris Brown, 'Tattoo', 'One Step At A Time' and 'Battlefield.' Her debut album has gone platinum with 2 million copies sold. Her song 'No Air' was the highest selling single of an American Idol champion or alum.

Jordin tried Broadway in 2010 and will make her debut film in the remake of Sparkle.

Jordin also does some charitable works. In 2008, she traveled to Ghana as part of the delegation to help children with malaria and this campaign aim is to end death by malaria in Africa by 2015. In 2011, Jordin was named 'VH1 Save The Music Foundation Ambassador' and again, will be awarded the same title in 2012.

The recently married Hillary never make it to the preliminary rounds.

After AI, luck is just in the corner for Hillary and she became the lead singer of the award winning group Lady Antebellum.


Silver fox Taylor Hicks


Alabama's favorite son, Taylor Hicks, became a busy silver fox after winning American Idol Season 5.

The night before Hurricane Katrina, Taylor was in New Orleans. His flight was canceled and the free airplane voucher that the airline gave, Taylor used it to travel to Las Vegas where an American Idol audition took place.

His debut single 'Do I Make You Proud' quickly climbed into the Billboard Hot 100 and reached the no. 1 spot and sold 190,000 copies in its first week of release. His self title album followed and was no 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 albums and sold 298,000 copies. A certified platinum album.

Season 5 finale of American Idol was considered as one of the most watched television show where almost 37 million Americans tuned in and 63 million cast their votes for Taylor.

Taylor is now a singer, record producer, and a Broadway actor when he starred in the musical Grease.
