American Idol Judge : RANDY JACKSON



Randy Jackson was born on June 23, 1956 and is a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Randy is a bassist, singer entrepreneur but best known as a record producer which makes her very eligible to be an American Idol judge.

As a bassist, Randy played with Carlos Santana and Jerry Garcia in the early 80s. He even joined in some of the recordings of the rock group Journey.

Jackson toured and produced recordings for Mariah Carey, Nsync, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, and even Madonna. With Mariah, Randy worked with her in most of her albums and was her musical director in most of her concerts.

In the recording world as an executive, Jackson became the vice president of artists and repertoire at Columbia Records and head the artists and repertoire at MCA Records.

Randy joined Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul judging potential and future singing superstars on American Idol in 2002.

Jackson also produces America's Best Dance Crew, a reality dance competition which premiered on February, 2008.
