
Adam Lambert, American Idol Season 8 runner-up is nearing settlement of a lawsuit filed against him by recording company.
In November, 2011, Colwel Platinum Entertainment sued Lambert for a recording deal made in 2007 and 2008. Lambert recorded an album. 'Beg for Mercy' few months before auditioning for the popular reality singing contest which forbids any of the would be contestant as one of the contest's rules.
The runner-up to Kris Lawrence, Lambert, a native of Indianapolis, Indiana, is the first flamboyant contestant of the show with a powerful voice that almost made him the winner. But rumor has it that, conservative Americans are not yet ready for an openly gay AI winner.
After joining American Idol, Lambert's recording with Colwel Entertainment, the company released his 'Beg for Mercy' recording at Amazon.com, irked Lambert and asked his representatives to take down the uploading. Thus Colwel Entertainment responded with a lawsuit against Lambert.
Both party's lawyers confirmed that a settlement will be finalized soon but the details of the lawsuit will remain confidential.
