A survivor in Nikki

Nikki McKibbin, third runner-up in American Idol season 1, is an American rocker songwriter from Grand Prairie, Texas.

After her AI stint, Nikki's recording company urged her to do country music because of her vocal tone but, Nikki insisted to stay to her rock roots. Because of this and other differences, Nikki's was not able to record an album.

In 2005, Nikki was seen in various reality shows. 'Fear Factor', 'Battle of the Network Reality Stars', ' Kill Reality' to name a few. But it was in VH1's 'Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew' that Nikki once again was in the spotlight where she received treatment for cocaine and alcohol addictions. In her stint with the rehab, she revealed that she was sexually, physically and emotionally abused as a child.

McKibbin remained sober til this day. She gave her first performance after her rehab was on her mother's death anniversary. Nikki's mom was an alcoholic.

Nikki only made one album titled 'Unleashed.'
