The funny Kellie Pickler

Kellie Pickler is one of the more luckier American Idol alum that gained fame even without taking home the grand prize.

Kellie, who finished sixth in the fifth season of AI, is a native Albemarie, North Carolina. In 2010, she was ranked as seventh in the best American Idol alum.

Kelly, then 19, auditioned for American Idol in North Carolina where she sang Kelly Clarkson's 'Since U been gone' and Marina Mcbride's 'Broken Wing.' Simon Cowell said that she's over singing the songs but really liked her singing voice and when she entered the semi-finals, Pickler became Simon's favorite even predicting that she will be one of the top 3 even preferring Kellie over AI grand champ in season 4 Carrie Underwood.

But Kellie really gained the viewers attention because of her quirky way and mispronouncing words just like Jessica Simpson.

Her post AI stint gave her fame many of her co-alum never got the chance. Kellie is a certified platinum artist. to date, her debut album 'Small Town' has sold over 800,000 copies. Her album produced three singles that hit the Billboard Hot 100.

Kellie is not only a busy recording artist but is also busy in her philanthropy works. She supports the St. Jude's Research Hospital to raise funds for children with special needs.

Kellie is now married to her long time beau Kyle Jacobs.
