Denver audition recap

Thirty one golden tickets given to Hollywood for AI hopefuls.

The auditioners where up and ready as early as 2 in the morning. manay made video diary for their trip to the AI audition center.

Jenni Schick started the day right. And when she got her golden ticket, she also got what she came for...a kiss from AI judge Steven Tyler.

Curtis Gray of Florida got the AI look and could be the next singing sensation. With his big built and beard, you will never thought he has a singing voice to make him the next idol. He was up by 6 am and still in high spirits till 11 am.

Next is Richie Law. The native of Colorado got the Scotty McCreery voice. The judges never expected that behind his boyish look, he has that big, crooning voice ala Scotty.

Then came Tealana Hedgesorth. A bubbly girl wearing a bright yellow outfit for her auditions. There have been a little rivalry with her twin sister who excels in singing and is a part o a theater group. By auditioning to AI, she will be out of her sister's shadow and be the person different from her twin. But sad to say, she was unanimously voted out of the contest.

Log cabin girl Haley Smith from Utah sang 'Tell me something good' by Chaka Khan with a different twist. Steven liked so much her version and honored to hear sing the way his era sound. Randy Jackson said she is a real flower girl.

Then it was Shelby Tweten's turn to audition. At first glance, you will thought that Shelby is like an ordinary girl. But the native of Minnesota is suffering from bipolar syndrome since the 4th grade. Her mother is very supportive and always by her side to guide her and her number one fan. Shelby wants to spread to everyone that being bipolar doesn't defy who you are. When it's time for her to let the world hear her sing, AI judge Jennifer Lopez was so awed with what she heard. She sounded beautiful just like her looks, just like who she is.

Jairon Jackson auditioned with his own composition. Eventhough the judges never heard of it, they liked it and his voice is so smooth. Jennifer said that he is a lover that's why his song really came from the heart.

Angie Zeiderman of Florida can be counted as one of the weird auditioners. Her friends called her Lady Gaga for the way she dresses, her moves, her being spunky. Randy stopped her and was to give her a no when she sang a musical song. But when she changes it to Linda Rondstadt classic 'Blue Bayou', Randy changed his mind and got a yes from the three judges.

The auditioned ended with the master of air guitar Magic Cyclops. He claimed that he owned 11,000 air guitars coz he said, the air in Colorado makes him crazy. Originally from Iowa as he said, he sang a Neil Diamond song but then, the judges just walked out of him but had a good time

Three more cities to go and it's the start to the road to the American Idol showdown.
