Log cabin girl Haley Smith from Utah sang 'Tell me something good' by Chaka Khan with a different twist. Steven liked so much her version and honored to hear sing the way his era sound. Randy Jackson said she is a real flower girl.
Then it was Shelby Tweten's turn to audition. At first glance, you will thought that Shelby is like an ordinary girl. But the native of Minnesota is suffering from bipolar syndrome since the 4th grade. Her mother is very supportive and always by her side to guide her and her number one fan. Shelby wants to spread to everyone that being bipolar doesn't defy who you are. When it's time for her to let the world hear her sing, AI judge Jennifer Lopez was so awed with what she heard. She sounded beautiful just like her looks, just like who she is.
Jairon Jackson auditioned with his own composition. Eventhough the judges never heard of it, they liked it and his voice is so smooth. Jennifer said that he is a lover that's why his song really came from the heart.
Angie Zeiderman of Florida can be counted as one of the weird auditioners. Her friends called her Lady Gaga for the way she dresses, her moves, her being spunky. Randy stopped her and was to give her a no when she sang a musical song. But when she changes it to Linda Rondstadt classic 'Blue Bayou', Randy changed his mind and got a yes from the three judges.
The auditioned ended with the master of air guitar Magic Cyclops. He claimed that he owned 11,000 air guitars coz he said, the air in Colorado makes him crazy. Originally from Iowa as he said, he sang a Neil Diamond song but then, the judges just walked out of him but had a good time
Three more cities to go and it's the start to the road to the American Idol showdown.
